Pastoral Care

Every individual and family is important in our congregation and community. We are here to offer pastoral support in Christ’s name to all in a caring and safe environment.

Currently pastoral care is provided by the Minister, the Elders and our church visitor, Sylvia Pollock.

The Minister is available for pastoral care to everyone in the congregation. He may be contacted at the Manse and an appointment made for a home visit.

Each Elder has a number of families to care for and each Elder will normally visit each of their families twice a year. Some Elders will visit more frequently where there is a particular need. It may also be the case that an Elder will supplement personal visits with phone calls and informal contact.

Sylvia Pollock is available for home visits and she visits our senior members on a regular basis. She also supports the Minister in offering pastoral care to all members of the congregation.

We also believe that every member has a role to play in supporting and helping each other. This happens informally as we show the love of Christ to other people.

How to access Pastoral Care

In addition to the routine visits and contact there are a number of ways to access pastoral care:

  • Contact your Elder (if you don’t know who your Elder is contact the Minister)
  • Contact our church pastoral visitor, Sylvia Pollock
  • Contact the Minister (by personal request, telephone, e-mail or letter)
  • Contact any other church member (to ask on your behalf)
